This was our last full day in Munich. We continued our tour of the regional castles by going to Nymphenburg Palace in the suburbs of Munich. We rode a tram (street level cable car that looked like a bus). Olivia loved it and keeps pointing and screaming whenever she sees a bus now. The palace was nice and had several acres of grounds and woods with smaller buildings. There was a carriage museum full of royal carriages from the 1800s.
After the palace we ate at a nice Bavarian restaurant and then took the tram back to downtown. We split off for the rest of the afternoon so that Mary could shop alone for awhile, and I took the kids to a toy museum in an old church tower and then got some pizza and walked around for awhile. After we met up with Mary, we had our dessert of the day - a small frying pan full of sweet pancakes covered with plum sauce and applesauce - and then went back to the room to watch the Polar Express, which we had promised Abby.

You guys seem to be having an awesome time! I love the food diary :)
Samuel misses you guys too. We found a yellow barrette that belongs to you guys and instantly Emily said, "Abby!" Glad someone knew who it belongs too.
Wow! Merry Kristkindel. How fun to be in the place of lederhosen. I had to chuckle about Mary wanting to remember the food she ate everyday....it reminded me of Mat's 90 year old grandma who has journals full of food eaten at every church function or social outing.
It looks so fun! Aww! The atmosphere is amazing. You guys would have been so much fun to travel with.
Happy jet lag.
Awesome!
